If you prefer to stay in town, Crestone offers many fun festivities to enjoy throughout the year including a 4th of July parade and celebration, the famous Crestone Music Festival in August, the Alternate Energy Fair on Labor Day weekend and Winterfest merchants and artists fair Thanksgiving weekend. This remote area is perfect for outdoor lovers. Hiking trails abound and a multitude of natural rock formations are perfect for climbing. Horse back riding, fishing, hunting, biking and 4 wheeling are all exciting warm weather activities. Likewise, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing are area favorites in the winter.
